Uruguayan Restaurant in Crows Nest, Sydney
The small country with the loud dessert menu
Uruguay is a country of three million people, half a coastline, and some of the most underrated wine, gin and sherry on the continent. It's also one of the most under-represented South American cuisines in Sydney — which is exactly why a small-but-real Uruguayan thread runs through the Los Bravos menu. We know how good Uruguayan delicacies are and seek out to do them all the justice possible.
You'll find Uruguay on the dessert list specifically. Our Bo Bo No.7 is a fresh lemon sorbet with a shot of aromatic Uruguayan gin — a clean, citrus-forward finish to a long evening. Our Sherry Drizzled Gelato takes our signature house-made chicha morada gelato and crowns it with sweet Uruguayan sherry. The combination is darker, deeper and more layered than either part on its own. Depth. Sophistication.
Beyond the desserts, Uruguay appears on our wine list (Tannat from the Canelones region is worth asking about) and our spirits selection. A full Uruguayan menu isn't where we sit — Los Bravos is pan-Latin by design. That said Uruguay carries a very distinctive voice in the room.
