Peruvian Restaurant in Crows Nest, Sydney

The pisco-soaked, ceviche-led heart of Los Bravos

The Pacific coast of Peru is where the soul of Los Bravos lives. Lima invented the Pisco Sour and turned Ceviche into a national art form. Both arrive at your table on Willoughby Road — made the way Lima’s old guard makes them; lime-bright, cold, with a tigers’ milk that doesn’t apologise for its sharpness. Authentic. Real Ceviche.

Los Bravos isn’t a single-cuisine restaurant, and we own that. Our menu liberally travels across South America capturing the best of each country. But Peru is where we always return — to the chicha morada, to the pisco our bartenders pour by the dozen each night, to the ceviche we plate with sweet potato, corn and red onion the way you’d find it on a bench in Barranco.

The Peruvian indulgence you’ll find on our menu -
Ceviche Peruano — a century-old delicacy and the national dish of Peru. Market fish, seasoned and marinated in lime, finished with sweet potato, corn, red onion and coriander. The temperature of
the lime, the cut of the fish, the timing of the marinade — every element matters. We treat it with the seriousness it earned.
The Pisco Program (James' Pisco Flight) — our Lulo Pisco Sour, the classic Pisco Sour, and an evolving list of pisco-led
cocktails, and even straight top notch quality pisco in its purest form. Pisco is Peru’s grape brandy; the sour is its national drink. We shake it hard with fresh lime, simple syrup, Angostura and an egg white that builds the cloud on top. The Lulo version adds an Andean fruit that tastes like passionfruit’s quieter, sharper cousin — and you won’t find it residing at other Sydney Bars.

Chicha Morada — the deep-purple Peruvian drink made from purple corn, pineapple, cinnamon and
clove. We serve it as a non-alcoholic option and as the base of our signature house-made gelato, drizzled with sweet Uruguayan sherry.

Why Los Bravos for Peruvian food in Sydney
There are only a handful of restaurants serving Peruvian food in Sydney, and most of them sit in the CBD or inner west. Los Bravos brings the cooking to the lower north shore — Crows Nest, walkable
from St Leonards, Cammeray, Naremburn and North Sydney station. A beautiful 2 minute stroll from Crows Nest Metro or slightly longer from St Leonards.

Our kitchen takes Peru seriously without locking itself to a single country’s pantry. You’ll find Argentine empanadas, Colombian arepas and Venezuelan dedos de queso alongside the ceviche —
because that’s how the Latin world actually eats. But the Peruvian heart — the pisco sour and the ceviche — are the dishes we’ll lose sleep over getting right.
