Argentinian Restaurant in Crows Nest, Sydney
Charcoal-grilled steak, chimichurri and the unhurried Argentine evening
Argentine cooking is built on three key elements: time, fire, and the willingness to leave good ingredients alone. The art of simplicity they call it. At Los Bravos in Crows Nest, we keep all three honest. The beef is seared over charcoal. The chimichurri is made by hand — parsley and garlic so fresh you can smell the cutting board across the
room. The empanadas spend twelve hours braising before they go anywhere near pastry. The pastry meticulously hand made with generous lashings of love.
You won’t find a full asador pit at Los Bravos. That’s Porteño’s territory and we don’t pretend to be a Buenos Aires steakhouse. We’re an Argentinian corner inside a pan-Latin restaurant — honest cooking, quality cuts, and a table you don’t ever want to leave. Let James continue bring the food and gorgeous drink. Malbec, perfectly cooked red meat. Heaven in Crows Nest.
The Argentine dishes on our menu -
Carne con Chimichurri — Beef sirloin, seared over charcoal, sliced and served with a vibrant Argentinian chimichurri packed with parsley, garlic and a slow build of heat. The chimichurri is the dish as much as the beef is. We don’t take shortcuts on it.
Empanadas Argentinas — house-made pastries, baked in the porteño tradition. Filled with cheese
mornay or 12-hour braised beef brisket Birra. Two pieces to a serve; you’ll want a second, third and maybe a fourth to pair with that perfect Malbec.
Choripan Argentino — the Buenos Aires street snack that turned into a national habit and obsession. Grilled spicy chorizo, guacamole, mustard, aioli and Chimichurri Argentina, in a traditional roll.
Wines from the right side of the Andes - Our wine list leans into Mendoza Malbec and Patagonian Pinot — because that’s what pairs with chimichurri. We’re not pushing the list at you. But if you’re ordering the carne, ask the floor about the Malbec.
Why Los Bravos for Argentinian
Sydney’s Argentine restaurant scene is concentrated in Surry Hills and the inner east. Los Bravos brings the cooking to the lower north shore — Crows Nest, walking distance from St Leonards, Cammeray, Naremburn and North Sydney station. A short 2 minute stroll from Crows Nest Metro or an extended trip from St Leonards station.
Our room is intimate rather than theatrical: the focus is what’s on the plate, not the spectacle of the grill. That said, you will love the spectacular juicy meat hitting your tastebuds. Los Bravos is pan-Latin. The Argentine plates sit alongside Colombian arepas, Peruvian ceviche, Venezuelan snacks and a pisco-led bar. The cuisines share a table the way they share a continent —borders may exist but it is all united.
